Camerawork:
The camera work in this music video was good as there where lots of different shots and after the opening few second the shot lengths got reduce and quicker flow looking cuts.
It looked like there was a green screen used as there where some differences in the focus and camera focus, but it could be a rustic feel to the video as a editing decision. Overall the video background is well filmed.
Editing:
The editing helped as there where short length shots and they gelled together very well, as some were different angles of the same person.
Star Image:
The start image is apparent in this video as the band appears in the whole video, mainly the lead singer which could be referred as protagonist of this video because of the lip-syncing parts.
Narrative and Performance:
The narrative in this song it well performed as there is suggestions of the lyrics of the song meaning of the visuals.
Panic At The Disco - I Write Sins Not Tragedies
Panic At The Disco - I Write Sins Not Tragedies
Camerawork:
The high tempo of the song allows quick shots and angles that would not be associated with other genres of music videos.
Editing:
I think the editing was well made as syncing to the song with the filming and the order of the visuals was good making the filming look.
Star Image:
The lead singer is the most apparent star in this music video as he takes up most of the video time and the other members of the band appear less often.
Performance and Narrative:
Performance and Narrative:
The performance on this video is lip syncing by the lead singer and dancing. The video is set in a wedding and there are dancing after the traditional wedding scene.
The Black Eyed Peas - Where Is The Love?
Camerawork:
The use of the camera is varied in shot types and angles as there is close-up when the band and children are singing, Mid-shots of the people and the scenery and the location. At the start of the video it starts on a close-up as a child running with a piece of paper with a question mark (?) on it, the shots starts with a close-up and gradually the shot get further away and the tracking camera shows children running with the papers down the street. (Below)
Editing:
There are quick changes of shots for the mayoralty of the song but where there are faster pace parts of the song the changes are quicker. There is some cross-cutting between long-shots, Mid-shots and close-ups of different parts of this video. (Below) with the third image of cutting back in to the truck.
Star Image:
(Left) On some parts of this video the whole group appear together in what looks like a housing area.
The performance and narrative of this this video is based around the lyrics and the title of the song, questioning the public where the love is. The video shows shows of children singing and looking sad. (Below)
